Ontario Chamber of Commerce provides a “Blueprint for making Ontario open for business”!

Based on the inputs of business members which were utilized during the June 2018 elections, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce has pulled together recommendations and priorities in a series of “mandate” letters to Premier Doug Ford and his Ministers.

The letters provide detailed input into reducing the regulatory and tax burden that have left Ontario business owners and managers uncertain about the provincial economy and their futures. It also points to the current issues including the lack of talent and skilled workers. Four themes are the focus of these respective communications including:

  • Fiscal Balance
  • Business Competitiveness
  • Investment Growth
  • Government Accountability

The Ontario Government has responded with Bill 47 – the “Making Ontario Open for Business” act. This act repeals much of Bill 148 – and proves that the Government of Ontario has listened to the concerns of business!
